What does your groomer mean when they say?...
short...but not shaved: leaving the coat a length that is short enough to be maintained, yet still have some "fluff". Length options are usually a 4 blade(shortest), 2 guard comb, or 1 guard comb.
shaved: When a blade is used without a guard comb. The 3 length options are a 10(shortest), 7, or 5(longest). This does not mean to the skin, although skin may show on dogs with very thin coats.

guard comb: an attachment comb used over a blade to do longer lengths. There are various guard lengths, an inch being the longest option. These are used to set the length of the coat- scissoring is still done afterwards to even out.

scissor all over: no blade or guard comb used. This is done when the owner does not want "length" taken off but still wants the coat to look groomed.

teddy bear head: making the head and face round in shape.

clean face: shaved face, specifically with a 10 blade

clean feet: the entire foot is shaved
pom tail: when just the base of the tail is shaved
bobbed ears: when the ends of the ears are cut even to chin length
tipped ears: when just the ends of the ears are shaved(usually only done on breeds such as yorkies, westies, etc.) that have ears that stand up.
